As the economy continues to misbehave, I predict that creative minds everywhere will begin to take those sour recession lemons and turn them into the best, most delicious lemonade we’ve ever tasted.

It’s started in Seattle already with SportsWise, a two-month-old company that buys up excess merchandise that has resulted from order cancellations, and sells them at 50 to 70 percent off.

The first SportsWise sale event is happening April 3 through 5 in Hangar 30 at Magnuson Park (6310 N.E. 74th St.). More than 22,000 square feet will be filled with over 15,000 spring items, including yoga, bicycling and running merchandise from seven different brands for men and women.

Event hours are Friday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event and parking are free. Group changing rooms are available. Cash and credit cards accepted.
