It's official. Fancy has lost its Pants.

Back in 2006, jeweler and shop owner Sally Brock merged her two stores, Fancy and Pants, and combined lingerie, clothing, jewelry (including Brock's own designs), accessories and art -- all created by small independent designers -- under one roof.

But two years later, Brock, with help from her boyfriend, local designer Erich Ginder, found herself re-envisioning, remodeling and reconfiguring Fancy, doing away with the clothing and lingerie to focus on jewelry, accessories and art.

The newly reopened Second Avenue storefront features a sleek new neon sign and platinum-colored tiles. After taking out a few walls, Brock gussied up the inside with a combination of vintage tin ceiling tile, new jewelry cases and some fabulous innovative light fixtures made by the talented Ginder.

Fancy will still carry hand-forged belt buckles (from $40) from Georgetown metalsmith Steel Toe Studios and evocative resin jewelry ($50-$75) from Fernworks Fine Art, but will also bring in new collections this summer.

Brock is also launching a bridal line to add to her existing jewelry offerings. The collection features stackable bands in 14-karat yellow and white gold with luminescent faceted green sapphires and gorgeous earthy yellow Oregon sunstones; binary rings with your beloved's initials spelled out in binary code with tiny rubies; and the Oppo Lotta Set, 14-karat white-gold bands with black and white diamonds.

The bridal collection starts at $300 for a simple 14-karat gold band. Pricing is based on the size of the ring and the current market price of gold. All the metals used in the Fancy collection are 100-percent recycled and come from a refinery that recycles gold, silver and platinum. The white diamonds used in the Oppo Lotta set are also repurposed.

The new Fancy is open for business, and while you won't find Pants, you'll still find sister shops Nancy (which carries a great collection of art and cards) and Schmancy (purveyor of quirky plush and vinyl toys), if you stroll on down the street.
