Ladies in search of a bargain, a little pampering and a way to contribute to the community need look no further than the fifth annual Closet Treasures Sale, Oct. 27, and the sale preview (Oct. 26).
The Eastside event features a carefully culled stockpile of gently used designer clothing, from evening wear and suits to everyday pieces, at prices as low as $5. All proceeds go to Dress For Success, a Seattle nonprofit that provides career clothing to disadvantaged women.
At the Oct. 26 preview (4-8 p.m.), shoppers donate $35 for the privilege of first browsing (and buying) rights, as well as appetizers, beer and wine, $5 minimanicures and advice from an alterations specialist on how to make their finds work. A silent auction ups the take-home quotient with Sonics tickets, jewelry, glass art and salon gift certificates.
The sale is free and open to the public Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Last year's scores included pieces by Donna Karan, Michael Kors and Ralph Lauren. Both events will take place at Emerald Heights, a 62-and-over community in Redmond.
