Madrona's favorite purveyor of one-of-a-kind jewelry is bidding adieu to its original storefront and taking up residence in larger digs just down the block. Hitchcock, which has made a name for itself by stocking hard-to-find handmade jewelry from local and national designers, will kick off the opening of its new space with a party Nov. 3.
The bejeweled fĂȘte (beer, wine, champagne and snacks are included) runs from 3 p.m. until around 8 p.m. and will showcase new lines for the boutique, as well as its slick 1960s Mod-influenced look for fall. Among the new finds that fill the three-times-larger space are cool resin cuffs and black patent-leather necklaces with subtle metal embellishments by Colette Malouf; Mesh NY's sterling silver and gold vermeil mesh pendants; and an exclusive line of silver and gold chains with semiprecious stone charms by local gal Christa Hope.
Owner Erica Sheehan will continue to offer makeup application for $50 using Three Custom Color Specialists makeup, and the store still stocks jewelry from local designers such as Emily Baker's Clever Castle line, Regina Chang and found-object jewelry pioneer Thea Grant.
With prices ranging from $49 to $500, the cost of owning something singular from Hitchcock remains within reach.
