Be Jeweled gathers Seattle's diverse design talent July 24 on Lake Union

The annual Be Jeweled shopping event has the perfect recipe for a summer evening: wine tasting, sunset over Lake Union, chocolates and jewelry. The annual shopping event takes place July 24 from 6:30 to 9:30 at Lake Union Crew.

Browse the baubles offered by nine talented local jewelry designers while you sip Washington wines and nibble Melissa's truffles. The participating designers are:

• Xenia Callahan -- vintage-inspired necklaces and earrings.
• Maria Carter -- boldly colored gemstone jewelry with intricate wire wrapping.
• Francesca Letterly and Brandy D'Onofrio -- elegantly simple designs and organic mineral rings.
• Bruce Magnotti -- striking cocktail rings with gorgeous gemstones.
• Shannon Miranda -- artistic and imaginative pieces, including "caged" gemstones.
• Maile Roundtree and Nicole Richardson -- eclectic and fashionable jewelry.
• Lauren Schwartz Ryman -- gemstone jewelry in brilliantly mixed color combinations.
• Birna Sigurbjornsdottir -- designs inspired by natural elements of the sea.
• Erin Jane Staples -- a creatively feminine collection with a pretty mix of gemstones.

If you'd rather adorn your walls than your body, artist Nancy Lee will offer originals and prints of her mixed-media paper collages.

Get there early -- the first 50 guests will receive a special discount on jewelry. The event is free, but you must be 21 or older to attend, and you must reserve a space by replying to maile@roundtree.org.
