Lucky charms: GaelSong’s Celtic jewelry and gifts go online

Lucky charms: GaelSong's Celtic jewelry and gifts go online.

St. Patrick's Day is right around the corner – an occasion for soda bread, ale and green clothing, of course. But what about a lucky piece of Celtic jewelry? GaelSong, a local seller of all things Celtic, recently closed the doors to its Ravenna storefront and launched an Internet site. I took a fresh look at the Seattle-based e-tailer and found some gorgeous items fit for March 17, or any day of the year.

GaelSong owner Colleen Connell points out that you don't have to be Irish to enjoy Celtic jewelry. After all, she's only "25 percent Irish." Connell's love affair with Ireland began when she was a youngster growing up in an Irish-Catholic neighborhood of San Francisco. Today, she operates one of the country's largest sellers of jewelry and gifts imported from Ireland, Scotland and Wales.

Feeling lucky (or just in the mood to treat yourself)? You might like the Four Corners Pendant ($36), a traditional Celtic-looking necklace that vaguely resembles a shamrock, or the Irish Rose pendant necklace ($88) and matching earrings ($68), which caught my eye. Unusual and striking, this sterling silver ensemble is said to symbolize a woman's strength and endurance. I think I may have just found my new lucky charm.

Amazing Charms there.....I wish I could place them to my collections.
I'm 1/2 Irish and I'm always interested in Celtic jewelry. I spent a month in Ireland and bought the most beautiful and unique items. If you have more sites or additional items by the sponsor, I would love to see more. I will be leaving for Scotland the end of April and would love to purchase something unique before I go. Thank you, Ruthie
