A versatile dress that's like butter

Butter by Nadia

It's hard to argue with the oft-used tagline of this amazing garment: "The Dress That Does Everything." Also know as the Butter by Nadia dress, it does, in fact, do everything but the wash.

The one-size-fits-almost-all dress (sizes 2 to 16) is perfect for svelte figures, voluptuous gals, yo-yo dieters and even expectant mothers. Supremely forgiving, the flowy fabric (available in jersey or satin blends) hides a multitude of sins and figure "flaws," from poochy tummies to ample thighs.

More flexible than Gumby, you can wrap it in more than a dozen ways, creating a different style for nearly every occasion. Feeling like Marilyn? Wrap and tie it into a halter dress. Want to show off your lats, traps and rhomboids? Tie it into a backless dress. The multiple-personality dress even converts to a skirt.

Sabrina Rinderley, new mother and owner of Undies and Outies, which sells the dress locally, vouches for the flattering fit. "It's very slimming after you've had a baby, and the fit is smooth. No lumps," she says. You can either wash it by hand or have it dry cleaned, and wrinkles easily disappear.

The price for all of this versatility? Just $225. If you learn to tie it 12 ways, that's less than $20 a dress.

The Butter by Nadia convertible dress is available at Undies and Outies in red, black, teal and navy jersey, and black, champagne pink and lavender satin. Don't forget to ask for the tying instructions!
