When it comes to Mother's Day, the best gifts aren't the fancy or expensive ones, but the ones given from the heart. Many local shops offer a great selection of gifts for $25 or less that say, "I appreciate all you do." Here are a few of our favorites.

Clover House, South Lake Union
Clover House has a bevy of beautiful gifts for Mother's Day. Choose from sweetly gift-wrapped live plants (from $6.50); silver heart key rings ($12.50); and botanically inspired etched champagne glasses ($12 each). Or give the Ticket Stub Diary ($12.95), along with tickets to a play or concert and a promise to help Mom fill up the book.

Fresh, View Ridge
At this sunny little shop, you can create a necklace of cute charms from local artist Cyn Moore (from $7, necklace included). Choose from initials, neighborhoods and other trinkets to create a unique and personal gift.

Maxine's Floral & Gift, Maple Leaf
This is the gift shop for moms who love all things floral, bold and kitschy. Choose from vintage-inspired towel sets ($18.50), French coffee bowls ($14.95), adorable birdie salt and pepper shakers ($10.95) or Laini's Ladies, quirky hanging paper dolls ($12.95) wearing phrases such as, "When I count my blessings, I count you twice."

P.W. Kerr's, Pink Ginger, Rhinestone Rosie, Queen Anne
You're sure to find something special for your mom at one of these north Queen Anne shops. At P.W. Kerr's, I love the sassy Feel Goods Bath Salts from local artist Shannon Martin ($7.50) with vintage photos and quotes like, "My idea of housework is to sweep the room with a glance."

Down the street, visit Pink Ginger for decadent candles and body care from Volupsa (from $18) and Olive Juice Company (from $4). Next door at Rhinestone Rosie, you never know what treasure you'll find among the dazzling vintage charms, lockets and necklaces, which ring in for less than $25.
