When Ashley Baker began gardening in earnest, she wanted her basic tools within reach. And she wanted cute. So she made her own pocketed garden apron. Then she made them for friends. Now she makes them for other girls who want a little style while they garden.

Baker makes three and four pocket aprons. The larger of the two has deeper pockets to hold clippers, a hand shovel, hand rake, seed packets or other favorite tools. The smaller apron is perfect for apartment and condo dwellers that have compact balcony gardens to tend. Baker uses washable vintage and new fabrics with flora and fauna themes, as well as mod prints. Large aprons are $45, small aprons are $35. They're currently available at Velouria, Fancy and online at be-adorn.com, where you can custom order fabrics.

The aprons are versatile. "Baristas like them, too," says Baker. Stay tuned for her next soon-to-be-available design—dog walk aprons. With pockets for treats, baggies, leash, and house keys, these promise to be the perfect accoutrement for walking your pooch.
