Style-savvy moms who like to entertain will love the in-home trunk shows offered by local childrenswear designer Tammara Stroud, whose darling line of kids clothing, Baby Nouveau, offers a fashionable alternative to the typical chain-store offerings.
To book a home trunk show within Seattle, just choose five or more of your fellow moms, then call Baby Nouveau to request a date. Stroud herself will arrive at your home with fabric swatches, a portfolio, photos and sample garments for a pint-sized couture wardrobe.
If you live outside Seattle, book a show online with a refundable $150 deposit and you'll receive the kit in the mail. When you return the package after the show, you get your deposit back, plus 10 percent off the total sales you generate at your home trunk show.
Tot-sized fashionistas can choose from bubble skirts ($42-$52), bell-bottoms ($34-$44) and flared capris ($32-$36) in brightly colored cottons, embroidered fabrics and retro prints. For boys, there are supersoft hoodies ($42-$48), classic polo shirts ($32-$38) and crewneck shirts ($22-$30).
Can't fit in a party between trips to Urban Monkeys and the zoo? Stroud also accepts private appointments at her Queen Anne studio. Too busy even for that? Shop online.
