Diaper in style with gear by KatyBaby Designs

Picture this: You're out shopping, and your baby needs a diaper change – in the middle of Pacific Place. What's a fashionable mama to do? Diaper in style, say the gals behind KatyBaby Designs, a new company that's just launched a line of custom changing pads, burp cloths, matching bibs and other must-have baby accessories.

Operated by two sisters, Andrea and Erika Peterman (Andrea is a stay-at-home mom who heads up the sewing and production end of the business in Seattle. Erika, a mother and attorney in Montana, manages sales), KatyBaby products feature a range of fun and funky fabrics that include rock-star flames, hip polka dots and edgy camouflage.

The changing pads, made of soft cotton fabric and easy-to-clean nylon, are machine washable and sized to fit standard changing stations (protecting your wee one from lurking germs). And, check out the innovative "Spare Change" diaper clutch – a not-so-big bag for all of your baby's on-the-go needs. (Andrea came up with the idea when her daughter became a toddler, and no longer required a large, clunky diaper bag).

Look for KatyBaby products at Village Maternity, Pop Tots, Bump, Clover and other local maternity and children's stores.
