With trick-or-treating mere weeks away, the hunt for the perfect Halloween costume has begun. Parents looking for something more interesting than the typical party-store costume-in-a-bag should head to the Greenwood children's store Rising Stars, which offers a varied selection of charming new and used costumes.
From the fanciful fairy ensemble ($25) to the courageous lion getup ($14), Rising Stars offers affordable, adorable costumes for every personality, from aspiring princesses to wannabe knights to animal-loving bunny rabbits. Used, theater-quality costumes range from $7 to $14; new costumes ring in at $20 to $49. And Rising Stars stocks accessories to complete the look, including hats, masks and wigs ranging from $3 to $7.95.
If you can't make it there by Halloween, swing by the store's Treehouse playroom Nov. 10 for the Happy Green Bee party, when the maker of colorful, organic baby clothes will offer free professional photographs. Call the store for more details.
Rising Stars is at 7404 Greenwood Ave. N.; 206-781-0138. Visit the store online at www.rising-stars.biz.
