Your sister is coming to town to show off her new arrival, and while the baby herself is hardly bigger than a breadbox, the stuff that goes with her could fill an entire airplane hangar. But thanks to a new local company, your sister won't have to haul it all cross-country.

Woodinville-based Tiny Tots Travel rents travel strollers, cribs, rocking chairs, baby monitors and other necessities to parents who are visiting the Seattle area with little dumplings in tow -- or to new parents whose babies arrived before they had a chance to buy everything on their shopping list.

For instance, the Gogo Kidz Travelmate Stroller, a slick, wheeled contraption that turns your car seat into a mobile roller and retails for around $80, can be rented for $35 per week or $8 per day. If you're expecting houseguests who don't want to transport half of their own house for the trip, you can set them up with a crib ($15-$60 weekly), high chair ($20-$38 weekly), bathtub ring ($8 weekly) or even a giant box of toys ($30 weekly) for the duration of their stay -- and be assured that everything they're getting is safe, clean and modern.

Tiny Tots Travel was started last December by Amie Brenner, a trained nurse and mother of three. She was inspired after a recent trip to Hawaii, where she was pleased to find a company that rented cribs, high chairs and other baby equipment that made the trip a lot easier -- but dismayed by the condition and quality of the items for rent. She knew she could do it better.

Brenner stocks the latest equipment, keeps it sanitized and in top condition, provides owner's manuals and vigilantly checks for product recalls. She'll deliver it to your home or hotel and even pick up groceries for you on the way. For long-term stays in hotels or corporate housing, she offers monthly rental rates as well. Browse the catalog and rent Tiny Tots Travel equipment online at www.tinytotstravel.com, or call 425-943-0099.
