Ballard's latest and greatest concept in shopping is Pulp Lab, a small, gallerylike space that hosts limited-run shopping events. At any given time, Pulp Lab may showcase sale items from local boutiques, artwork, clothing and jewelry from independent designers, or any other cool consumable that strikes the proprietors' fancy.

Pulp Lab celebrates the holidays with a six-day "shopping lounge" Dec. 18-23, beginning with three nights of parties focused on Seattle vendors. Champagne and goodies will be on hand, as will a USnaps digital photo booth.

Dec. 18, the shop salutes local women's label Alula (6-10 p.m.); Dec. 19, Sweet Nina's sugar body polishes get the spotlight (5-9 p.m.); and Dec. 20 brings a fete for Kimberly Baker Jewelry, Stolen Chicken cards and prints, and Kat Larson's ethereal organic mixed-media works (5-9 p.m.).

Products from all vendors will be on hand during every day of the event, as well as menswear by Sovereign Beck and screen-printed wearable art by A Different Fur.

Pulp Lab is at 1912 N.W. Dock Place; 206-706-7857. Visit the shopping lounge online at www.pulplab.com.
