Shop locally -- shop online
These Web sites let you support your local economy from the cozy comfort of home
By Kathy Schultz
NWsource shopping columnist
Can't stand the crowds but want to support the local economy? Then shop online with a hot-buttered rum in hand from the comfort of your own home. There's something for everyone on your list here; just click and buy.
Nearly all the Web sites mentioned below have brick-and-mortar locations, in case you're a more tactile shopper. Some offer merchandise from local designers and locally made products. Most are small, independently owned shops, and the national stores have their roots in the Northwest. It's a great way to support what's unique about Seattle during this season of giving.
