Two favorite Seattle retailers are closing their doors and are offering their merchandise at substantial discounts. Dixon's New and Used Furniture on Capitol Hill is liquidating its entire stock at discounts ranging from 20-70 percent, and the store'll keep right on selling until its entire warehouse is cleared out (employees estimate this should take six to eight weeks).

Meanwhile, in Ballard, Turtle Press Studio and Store is closing its retail operation to concentrate on its Web store, which means discounts of 10-70 percent on the retail location's peerless stock of rubber art stamps, journals, handmade paper and art supplies. The sale ends as the store closes on Nov. 23rd.

That's the bad news. The good news is that Ballard is welcoming a new retailer this week: Bomb Shelter Skate Shop fills the vacuum created by the departure of Marley's Skate Shop earlier this year, which, by the way, moved downtown and became Concrete. Be sure to give Bomb Shelter your business so it'll stay open a good long time.
