Chilly weather be damned; we are ready for spring, and what better way to bring it on than with a spring fashion show featuring wispy dresses, sleeveless tops, colorful prints and feminine skirts? Ballard boutique Velouria will host the show with models sashaying down the runway in all this fair-weather garb on Thursday, April 19, at 8 p.m. at the Crocodile Cafe.

Seattle neighborhoods are far from being saturated with great boutiques (there really can't be too many, can there?) But these hot new shops are popping up in unexpected places, filling the fashion gaps in the city. When it comes to stores, more is always better, n'est pas?

You won't find tacky T's with unfunny sayings at Desteenation Shirt Company, a new T-shirt destination in Fremont. Rather, you'll find logo T-shirts sporting the original art from more than 90 (cool) independent businesses, all in one spot. "Real shirts from real places," as the shop's tagline says.
