Little Kids, Big City
A couple of weeks ago, I wrote about the popular family dance party, Baby Loves Disco. What I didn't know then is that March is grandparents month at BLD, and if you buy tickets online before the next party, on March 22, grandparents get in to the party for a mere five dollars.

Little Kids, Big City
If you haven't already heard, your next chance to party hard with your kids is this Saturday, Feb. 23.
I'd been hearing about Baby Loves Disco, the family-oriented daytime dance party, for months before I finally checked it out in November. My friend and her son, who is three weeks older than Gub, were here from out of town, and we thought it would be a good urban activity for the kiddos.

I must confess that I don't really watch ABC's hit show "Dancing with the Stars." (And I won't watch it, or any other unscripted television, until the writers' strike is amicably resolved. Solidarity, brothers!)

Don't allow a little something like starting a family to prevent you from hitting the clubs. Beginning Oct. 13, the Last Supper Club will host Shorty's Dance Party, an all-ages boogie-down to benefit local charities. And by all-ages, they mean all-ages: Event co-organizer Lisa Olson hopes to welcome club kids of every size, from adorable toddlers to bouncy preteens to hipster parents.

Life Behind Bars
For those of us who grew up listening to the beats laid down by Grandmaster Flash, Sugarhill Gang, Eric B. & Rakim and other tracks that make you "throw your hands up in the air and wave 'em around like you just don't care, and if you wanna party let me hear you yell, oh yeah," the old-school hip-hop sound is synonymous with breakdancing — a highly energetic urban dance style that emerged out of the hip-hop movement in New York's South Bronx.

Life Behind Bars
The Little Red Hen is a rare bird on the Seattle bar scene: It's a real honest-to-Gilley's honky-tonk, and the perfect antidote to the tapas and craft cocktail craze.
