Life is supposed to be a journey, not necessarily focused - the way many of us travel - on getting from point A to point B. There are, as there should be, stops in between.
But even when it comes to our leisure time, our adventures can be less about leisure and more about rushing to some appointed place to participate in some pre-determined activity. How many of us have strapped skis or snowboards to the roofs of vehicles and headed east on Highway 2 to Stevens Pass, sparing nary a glance at the small towns along the way?
