We've gone to Northwest Folklife for the past two years with minimal tears, using strategy the military could only aspire to. But this is Folklife...so it's a tie-dyed, guitar-strumming, super-chill strategy that might not work so well on a real battlefield.

Take a trip through world cultures without leaving town: Head for the Northwest Folklife Festival this three-day weekend at Seattle Center. Ethnic music and dance performances from many cultures draw a diverse crowd of all ages and nationalities to the popular festival with a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere.
